Great Falls Action Shot

Shot with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 with a Lumix G 20mm/F1.7 ASPH lens set at f/2.2, 1/4000s, and ISO 160.
Recently, we got a Panasonic GX1 camera.  With all the manual controls and options, we are hoping to learn more about photography and take clearer, better exposed pictures.  Mike spent an afternoon at Great Falls getting a handle on the new camera's features.  Hiking around the falls, Mike took a wide variety of photos, from macro shots of the rocks to landscape views of the rapids.  The crispness of this close-up water shot was possible because the lens' wide aperture allowed Mike to use a fast shutter speed.

Welcome to our Blog!

Shot with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 set at 4.7mm focal length (28mm equivalent in 35mm), f/3.3, 1/1000s, and ISO 100.

Welcome to our photo blog.  This blog will be a place for us to share photos and the adventures that go along with taking them. In June, Mike and I went to Switzerland for an 11 day trip.  It was an experience of a lifetime! We hiked through the Swiss mountains, stayed in some small towns, and eventually explored some cities and castles, too.  This photo was taken towards the end of our first day of hiking.  We had climbed through a snowy mountain pass and this moment was when we left the snow and followed the dirt trail again.  Ahead of us we could see the Engstlensee (the lake). Just beyond the lake was our destination. What a welcoming sight!
